whether是连词词性。
Coming ；whether ；you want to or not .不管你想来不想来，你是一定得来。

whether是什么词性
whether或if在名词性从句中不充当成分。这两个词之间的区别主要来自于if。它可以表达假设，意为“如果”。所以在很多情况下用它引导名词性从句容易引起歧义。
第一、因为whether…or not是一个固定搭配，所以如果后面有or not，只能用whether引导名词性从句，不能用if。Tom wants to know whether that is ture or not.汤姆想要知道那件事是真是假。
第二、主语从句只能用whether引导，不能用if引导。Whether the couple will love the camper is sill a question.这对夫妇是否会喜欢这辆房车还不确定。
第三、介词的宾语从句只能用whether引导，不能用if引导。I don’t care about whether they will pass the test.不不在乎他们是否会通过这个测试。
第四、whether引导的名词性从句里面的主语如果和主句的主语相同，则可以省略从句主语谓语，形成whether to do sth 结构。而if引导的名词性从句不可以这样省略。The poor little boy didn’t know where to go.这个可怜的小男孩不知道该去哪里。
第五、表语从句只能用whether引导，不能用if引导。The problem is whether we can get the necessary equipment on time. 问题是我们能不能按时得到必需的设备。
第六、同位语从句只能用whether引导，不可以用if引导。The question whether we will turn to China for help is not decided yet.我们是否要向中国求助这个问题还没有决定。
第七、为了避免重复，当前面有if出现的时候，后面的名词性从句不用if引导。
第八、discuss等词的宾语从句只能用whether引导，不能用if引导。
第九、否定的宾语从句，只能用whether引导，不能用if引导。
